Team building

My favorite work experience happened between 2010-2013, when I was tasked with finding and recruiting a design team for our office in Hyderabad, India. The goal was to expand our development house to be be an all in one service, rather than just an out sourced team. The thinking was that we would be able to attract global customers with this new outfit.

At the time, Hyderabad was a growing tech city, with several large enterprise companies. While the city had a robust design community, I wanted to attract designers that brought a new perspective to our global UX team. A team with a fascination for emerging technologies. A team that used mobile more than web. A team that instinctively veered towards mobile first experiences. To do this, I searched amongst the universities and the growing startup scenes throughout India.

The team that we assembled was filled with incredibly bright, inquisitive and thoughtful designers that in turn taught me to expand my empathy and definition of user experience. To evangelize this team, I hired a videographer to put this reel together. The sound is terrible, but it give a sense of what we accomplished.
